Exciting Win for the Pacers @ Scottsburg.
Pacers 52 - Warriors 51
This week has been a crazy week with the weather throwing a wrench in things. Practice time has been extremely limited this week, however we made the most of it. Monday we had a team day scheduled that had been postponed the week before due to weather. We went to Laser Command in Madison and had an outstanding time. The kids and coaches had a blast playing laser tag and throwing axes.
We were able to practice on Tuesday, but due to the weather were not able to practice on Wednesday. Thursday we were still out of school but got to have a walk through that afternoon before leaving to play a good Scottsburg team that was 13-3 and coming off a dominating win over Jennings County. I am telling you this because, although there was limited practice time we sent our kids scouts, film, and keys for what we needed to do to be successful. They internalized these things and made sure they got their mental reps.
We got a very nice compliment from the opposing coach (Coach Jameson) about how well the kids did with the scout, taking away what they wanted to do. This is an enormous credit to the kids for making sure that they made the most of those mental reps, which they were not able to get on the floor in practice. Last week I made mention of our "Positive Touch" and today I put together a highlight video of our enthusiasm and positive touch. The kids were absolutely phenomenal at this. You can view it below:
Quote of the Week:
"A lonely place is an unmotivated place."
-Laird Hamilton (considered greatest big wave surfer of all time)
Coach Wilks said to me last week, "I don't want to live a life without purpose." I hope he doesn't mind me sharing that. He is absolutely right. YOU have an AWESOME purpose. Let that purpose motivate you. There are PEOPLE who need YOU. Thank you for everything that you do!
Book of the Week:
Lead For God's Sake! If you have not read this yet let me know and you can borrow my copy. This is a must read for coaches and people in leadership positions about building transformational relationships with your players, colleagues, and families.
Podcast of the Week:
Become an Everyday Millionaire - Chris Hogan Click on the picture and follow the link to the podcast. I need all the help with my finances I can get. I got a lot of golden nuggets by listening to this podcast. Interesting fact is that Chris Hogan states a large portion of millionaires he studied were teachers. If this is the case, saving for the long haul is possible for anyone. I wish you all abundance in this area!
